ABOUT ME
Donna Esposito grew up in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, not far from the homes of James A. Michener, Margaret Mead, Pearl S. Buck, and Oscar Hammerstein II. She earned an undergraduate degree in molecular biology from Lehigh University (where she hosted “Sunday Swing” on the campus radio station, WLVR) and a doctoral degree in genetics from Cornell University (where she enjoyed learning to jitterbug and Lindy Hop when she wasn’t in the laboratory). Donna resides in upstate New York.
Donna’s avid interest in all aspects of World War II history and popular culture of the 1930s and 1940s stems from seeing a local production of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical South Pacific when she was nine years old.
Donna’s first novel, Flying Time, was published in 2016, sending her on an amazing journey that took her to the Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, Palau, the Marianas, and Sicily and resulted in the repatriation of an MIA American soldier. Her new novel, Ivy Linden and the Treasure of Skull Island, captures the spirit of those adventures, along with her love of plants and other cultures. Set in 1938, it is the first book of a series about the adventures of ethnobotanist Ivy Linden and will be released in 2023 by Cordata Press.
